Pour une analyse comparative de quelques adaptations de Frankenstein en bande dessinée : Guido Crepax (2002) et Denis Deprez (2003)
Keywords:

This paper analyses two adaptations of Frankenstein in comics: that of Guido Crepax (Grifo Edizioni, 2002—translated in 2014 at Actes Sud by myself), and that of Denis Deprez (Casterman, 2003). Although almost concomitant, these works are radically different, in the artistic choices—graphics in particular—of their authors. If both albums reinvest Shelley’s novel and Whale’s film, the analysis of Crepax’s and Deprez’s choices of drawings, layout, etc., reveals a specific poetic for each of these albums.
