Abstract

This article will revisit the construction of the bilingualism myth in Paraguay and its Guarani language, as one and ideal, through the metaphor of the Tower of Babel. This prism will allow us to question the gap between these myths and the plurilingual reality of Paraguay and to consider the collapse of these myths, no longer as an obstacle of contemporary bilingual poetry in Guarani but rather as one of its conditions of existence.
