Editorial Line

The biannual electronic journal Leaves was created on the initiative of the Climas laboratory (Cultures, Literature and Linguistics of English-speaking Worlds, UR 4196) at Bordeaux Montaigne University, in 2015. The journal is intended to reflect, but not be limited to, the team's various fields of research, that is to say the study of English-speaking worlds, from a cultural, literary and linguistic perspective. This peer-reviewed scientific journal is aimed primarily at an informed readership (researchers, PhD students, Masters students).

Leaves is open to the community of Anglicists, Americanists and linguists. It therefore welcomes original contributions from French and foreign researchers, either in the form of thematic dossiers or off-theme articles, in order to ensure stimulating diversity. Texts of lectures given by guest researchers or interviews with authors may also be published. Special issues will be scheduled from time to time in addition to the biannual publications.

Proposals for articles related to the theme of a given issue are collected by the coordinator(s) of the dossier and are subject to a double blind review before publication. Articles may be written in either French or English, without theoretical or methodological exclusivity. They will be subjected to an anti-plagiarism analysis using Compilatio software. Proposals for 'off-topic' articles will be collected by the journal's editor and subjected to the same appraisal process.

Leaves also intends to promote all the contributions to each issue, particularly the all-too-often invisible work of the reviewers: this voluntary work seems to us to be a crucial stage in scientific production, which invisibility condemns to a lack of recognition.

Leaves will therefore publish a list of reviewers for each issue, without, of course, specifying which article(s) they have reviewed, as we believe that the benefits of this approach outweigh the risk of any recriminations. Each reviewer may, however, ask to have his or her name removed from these acknowledgements.
