Abstract
The historiography on political violence during the Spanish Transition now has a well-established trajectory, allowing us today to understand with considerable precision the cycles, figures, characteristics, development, and consequences of this phenomenon. This article will analyze the evolution of narratives on the Spanish Transition and the gradual incorporation of the issue of violence. It will also introduce an issue that remains unsatisfactorily resolved: achieving truth, justice, and reparation for the victims of political violence during this crucial historical process, as well as the memorialization issues associated with it.
Keywords: Spanish Transition, Political violence, Transitional justice, Democratic memory.
