Abstract

In this essay published in Portuguese for the first time in 1978 but written in French et published in English en 1973, the author proposes the concept of “in-between-space” to reflect on the situation of enunciation of Latin American writers and on the cultural dependence of the colonized countries. He takes up the metaphor of anthropophagy by Oswald de Andrade (1928) and makes the in-between-space a place of transgression, appropriation or even decolonization of the gaze.
