Abstract

This article proposes to reflect on the emergence and characteristics of a contemporary bilingual poetry (Spanish-Guarani) from the dialectic of writing and orality. We hypothesize that this poetry is conditioned by the tension between writing in Spanish and the orality of Guarani, inherited from the Paraguayan sociolinguistic context. The authority of Spanish has been consecrated by a writing that has a normative power on the political, linguistic and literary level. In this context, we will question the role of the writing in Guarani and especially of its orality.
