Abstract
This article aims to explore the concept of « revolution » in the literary context of early twentieth-century Spain through Augusto Pérez, a literary character created by Miguel de Unamuno. To this end, we shall analyse his presence in the novel Niebla, but also in other writings in which he reappears, such as « Una entrevista con Augusto Pérez » and « Vida, guerra, alma de ideas ». Unamuno took part in the literary revolution of the 20th century at the moment when he set out and developed his lyrical revolution, which consisted in going beyond the concept of mimetic reality to propose his intimate reality, in which the different Unamunos who made up his consciousness unfolded in the same space, which is the dream. The character of Augusto Pérez is one of the main tools used by Unamuno to revolutionise the literature of his time.
