Abstract
The present article is a translation of an extract from the doctoral thesis of J. L. Pires Laranjeira, an eminent specialist in Portuguese-language African literatures, which deals with Portuguese-language African Negritude. This excerpt focuses on the analysis of the discourse of the Black man and its specificities in Portuguese-language Negritudinist texts, through a reflection on the symbolic and referential universes that compose them.
