Clara Janés wants to compose a planctus to honor her father on the day of his twentieth anniversary of death, that’s why she creates the poem «Planto», the analysis of which will be the subject of this article. The cathartic dimension of this elegiac composition allows her not only to express her pain for this loss, but also to complete the process of mourning. The dialog of «Planto» with Josep Janés’ poem «Damunt de tu només les flors», set to music by Frederic Mompou in 1962, is fundamental. Indeed, the festive dimension that implies the poem becomes all the more meaningful thanks to this song.
