The concept of prodigy has a long history dating back to the 17th century, as confirmed by the first Spanish-language dictionaries. This article proposes to broaden the conceptualisation of the term by adding nuances from the world of fashion, specifically from fashion shows. It emphasises how the incorporation of technology has brought about transformations on the 21st-century catwalk, similar to those orchestrated in magic and saint comedies. To expand the definition of prodigy, Algirdas J. Greimas’ semiotic square will be used, where expressions from Vogue’s fashion show reviews will be related to each other in order to identify semantic areas that allow the purpose of the text to be achieved.
