Abstract
Eugenio Trías (1942-2013), a renowned Spanish philosopher from the middle of the 20th century, developed a philosophy of the limit, of being on the border, articulated in the form of a city of the limit, made up of four neighborhoods (philosophical, ethical, aesthetic and religious). In 2005, in his book Politics and its Shadow, he reflected on the role of politics, following the attack on the Twin Towers and the political-religious conflicts, which seemed to awaken again, on a global scale. In this paper we will try to contextualize said writing by analyzing the role of politics, and the political, in this philosophy of the limit and in the life of its author.
