Abstract

This article will address the concept of the microfictional with the intention of redefining it from its overwhelming expansion in the networks. Since the canonical definitions of the 90s, the genre has exceeded the initial contexts of transmission (anthologies, magazines ...), to spread and relocate in new environments (internet, social networks ...) that, without a doubt, also redefine its inherent characteristics. Starting from the multiple appropriationist and interventionist practices of which, both in digital and post-digital environments, these microfictions are the result of our days, the article proposes to delve into the confluence between these and concepts such as “waste” or ”ruin”, used by Nicolas Bourriaud in his description of a radical aesthetic for 21st century art and culture.
